Welcome to the Challenge Poverty web site. This is a new site under construction. If you would like to contact us and learn more about Challenge Poverty please see our contact information below. Thank you for your interest in helping in the fight against poverty.
We live in a world where poverty claims 30 million lives a year. Poverty is an evil and to do nothing condones it. Those of us who are able have the responsibility to take action.
Challenge Poverty is a new charity formed to tackle poverty by delivering credible, realistic and sustainable projects whilst being transparent and accountable to all donors.
Community centres with clean water supply, dispensary, staff accommodation, classroom and training facilities will be the first projects by Challenge Poverty to tackle the high mortality rate in Africa. Clean safe drinking water, Safe facilities for child birth, health clinics and vaccinations will have an instant impact. We will provide practical maintenance for clinics as well as long term health support programs.
Emergency relief transportable clinics
We will develop transportable clinics with water boring facilities, built in generators and water purification systems. These will be built and housed in 40 foot containers, which can be easily linked, made secure and transportable to an emergency situation in a matter of days. Existing relief agencies and governments will be able to call on this assistance whenever necessary.
Blueprints of projects will be available on the internet with support services on the ground to encourage partnerships to accelerate the building of thousands of facilities as soon as possible. Donors can see their contributions effectively at work and see tangible results. Individuals and organisations will be encouraged to manage their own projects with assistance from Challenge Poverty.
The new challenges in the 21st century are not only for the poor and weak but probably more so for the rich and powerful, for this concerns the need to give things up: the good news however is that we need only give small things up to make a big difference. Challenge Poverty requires assistance. Donations of time, talent and money are all essential. Our aim is to not only achieve our own projects but to inspire, encourage and help others to do the same. Your help is requested, the fight against poverty needs you.
